Massachusetts isn't known as the Bay State for nothing; it's gorgeous. One of the country's smaller states, MA has a lot to offer through its deep history, spectacular vistas, internationally-respected schools, sports teams and cultural offerings, and amazing food. People from Massachusetts have a lot to be proud of; here are just four reasons why skydiving in Massachusetts at Jumptown is wicked cool:
Massachusetts is not only peppered with landmarks that commemorate significant events in America's history as well as showcase the birthplaces of numerous notable Americans, but it also represents the birthplace of commercial skydiving. Jumptown, established in 1959 at the Orange Municipal Airport as Parachutes Incorporated, increased the sport's popularity in America by 98% during its first year of operation. A lot has changed in skydiving since then, and we've seen it all.
We love having four distinct seasons, and Fall just might be our favorite. Flanked by lush state forests and dotted with shimmering bodies of water, the foliage in Orange is SPECTACULAR toward the tail end of September and into October. Nothing but vibrant and breathtaking reds, oranges and yellows for days ...
Our roots run deep at Jumptown, and one of the reasons we're able to maintain our spot in history is our phenomenal teammates. Mix the locals with professional skydivers and you've got an exceedingly enthusiastic bunch of people who cannot wait to share our incredible sport with everyone. From delighting first timers to thrilling super experienced skydivers, we take a good job seriously.
We may be coming up on 60 years of service, but our DZ facilities are nothing short of world-class. As a community dedicated to the purpose of skydiving, we take tremendous pride in maintaining top-of-the-line equipment and facilities. We love showing off our campus and our gold-standard aircraft, the Twin Otter.
As you can see, skydiving in Massachusetts is pretty amazing. If you're curious about a tandem skydive experience, check out our website to learn what first-timers can expect; if you're an experienced jumper, get ready to have your day made. We can't wait to make memories with you!
