Safest Dropzone in New England

We've got one of the best safety records - the best in New England!

Had a great time jumping here this season. I took 2 large groups totaling 20 people and we all had a blast. Dispatch was very helpful making sure everyone in my group got to jump when they wanted. I had Joe as my tandam master and Casey as my videographer and they made my first tandam the greatest moment of my life. Thanks everyone, can't wait to come back and take your AFF course.

Great laid back environment that's fun and safe. Zack Watts was my instructor and he was amazing making me feel totally comfortable so I could really enjoy the jump. It was amazing!

This is an amazing place to learn to skydive. I started 2 years ago, unfortunately was not able to last year. This year I am ready to go and can't wait to get back up in the sky. Highly recommend, everyone should skydive at least once.

Ready to make your first skydive?

Let's help you make the experience a memorable one.

Skydiving in New England, we are always monitoring weather conditions as skydiving is a weather dependent sport and weather can be unpredictable. If the clouds are too low, if it is raining or it is very windy you may not be able to jump that particular day. Please call us at (978) 544-5321 before you drive out if you have questions about the weather and how it will affect your jump. AFF classes will run on schedule regardless of the weather. Please do not assume if the weather is bad where you are that the conditions are the same here in Orange, MA. We often have a very different weather pattern than Boston, for example.

For skydiving in New England, be sure to dress in weather appropriate clothing. During warmer months, shorts and t-shirts are fine. On colder days, jeans or sweats are fine and layering is highly recommended. We suggest you do not wear nylon shorts or pants since the harness will slip around on the material and chafe your skin. Please wear a pair of sturdy sneakers, such as running shoes.

No outside cameras are permitted on your skydive due to safety reasons. There are no exceptions. The United States Parachute Association mandates that skydivers have a minimum of 200 jumps prior to taking a camera into freefall.

If you want your skydive filmed, take a look at one of our video packages! We have professional videographers who can film this experience and take some awesome shots for you!

We will provide everything you need for your jump - jumpsuit, goggles, helmet, etc. A current photo I.D. must be presented before you will be allowed to jump.

Reservations are strongly suggested in order for us to provide you with first-class service. Full payment is required per person in order to book a reservation. a $50 admin fee is forfeited if you cancel less than 72 hours before your scheduled jump.

Although it is very unlikely that your main parachute will fail to open properly, it can occur and this is a common question. On every jump, we are equipped with a main and a reserve parachute as a back up. In addition, all of our reserve parachutes are equipped with an Automatic Parachute Deployment system (commonly referred to as a Cypres or AAD). This unit will automatically deploy the reserve parachute should the jumpers be unable to.
Don't assume that the weather is going to be bad and that you won't get to jump. Forecasts are generic, and historically have been inaccurate. If you have any weather concerns, please feel free to call us the day of your jump to check on the weather conditions.
Tips are certainly appreciated and welcomed, but never expected. If you feel you've received excellent service, instructors feel appreciated with a gratuity!
All persons must sign a liability release form before jumping from any aircraft at Jumptown. Liability forms will be required to fill out upon arrival for your scheduled jump.

Personal checks are not accepted for the balance of your skydive. On the day of your jump you will be required to pay your balance with cash or credit card only. For your convenience, we accept VISA and Mastercard credit and debit cards.

Deposit and Cancellation Policy

Full payment per person is required in order to make a reservation at Jumptown. This can either be done by calling in your credit card number or booking online.

If a person fails to show up on his reserved date, a $50 admin fee will be forfeited.

There is a $15 processing fee for bounced checks.

Rescheduling

Tandem students will be rescheduled in the event of unsuitable weather. If a student is unable to jump on the day he/she takes their training, due to weather or circumstances beyond our control, he/she will be issued a rain check to return for the jump. There are no refunds given on reservation deposits or rain checks.

DVD and/or Stills Refund

In the event of a DVD failure a refund will be made in the amount of $125. There is NO REFUND for CD-ROM of photos. Any rejumps requested due to video failure will be charged at full price.

You must be 18 years of age or older in order to make a skydive - bring a current photo I.D. We are very sorry, but we cannot allow anyone younger to jump even if his or her parents are willing to sign a release form. There is no upper limit, as long as you are in good physical condition. We recommend a physician's approval if you are over 65.

Our weight limit for tandem skydiving is 240 pounds. Our weight limit for AFF is 250 pounds.
Skydiving is an active sport and you need to be in reasonable physical condition to enjoy it. Some weight limits do apply. We strictly enforce weight limits for the safety of everyone involved. If you arrive at the airport and your weight is in question you will be asked to weigh in. The limit is 250 lbs. for AFF classes. The weight limit for tandems is 240 lbs. (height and weight proportionate). We reserve the right to refuse you service if we feel your weight or physical condition puts you or your instructor at any additional risk.

For a tandem skydive, plan on at least half a day. The time of your appointment is the time you are to arrive at Jumptown. It is not the actual time of your jump. For the first AFF jump you will need to be here by 8AM and for the rest of the day. It may not take that long for your jump but it is better to be prepared. Please don't make any time constraint plans for the evening; this just causes you frustration and anxiety if we have any delays. The priority on this sport is safety - not time! So bring a book, bring a Frisbee, use the free WiFi, bring a lunch - but please plan on spending some time here. Picnic tables are available for your use during the day.

We do not recommend jumping on an empty stomach, nor do we recommend jumping with a really full stomach. Just try to eat something light.
Spectators are more than welcome and encouraged. They can make themselves comfortable in our shaded spectator viewing area and watch the skydivers land right in front of them. Binoculars are suggested for added viewing options. Children are welcome but must be carefully watched to keep them out of high-risk areas. Bringing a dog is not recommended but if you do it must be kept on a leash at all times.

Jumptown has a food service on site serving affordable breakfast, lunches, snacks and beverages. You may also bring your own picnic lunch or snacks. Picnic tables are available for your use.

Alcohol is strictly prohibited and is not allowed on property. Jumptown is located on a municipal airport and the consumption of alcoholic beverages is strictly prohibited at the risk of losing our lease on the airport. Please refrain from bringing or consuming alcohol before or after your skydive while at Jumptown.

We have a limited amount of space available for overnight or weekend camping. We do have a Bunk House that has two bunk beds. The rate to stay in the Bunk House is $15/night. This price includes fresh linens. Please call in advance if you would like to reserve either camping space or a bed in the Bunk House. Sorry but we do not have electrical hookups for RV's. Restrooms and hot showers are located in the main building. We also have 3 motels within a 10-minute drive of Jumptown: Executive Inn, Super 8, and Travel Inn
There is no roller coaster feeling when you jump out of the airplane. The sensation of freefall is more like flying than falling, and is intensely exciting and liberating. The parachute flight is quiet and inspiring, however, if you like roller coasters, ask your instructor and you will experience the most exciting ride ever!

We have goggles that will fit over your glasses, so you will be able to enjoy the view.
No outside cameras are permitted on your skydive due to safety reasons. There are no exceptions. The United States Parachute Association mandates that skydivers have a minimum of 200 jumps prior to taking a camera into freefall.
It will take approximately 15 minutes to climb to altitude, you will freefall for one minute and you will fly your parachute for 6 to 7 minutes.
The average size person freefalls at a speed of 120 mph. The heavier the person, the faster the freefall. The descent rate under parachute is about 1,000' per minute.
Most landings are quite soft, with many people doing nice stand-up landings. Sometimes, especially on calm days, the forward speed of the parachute will provide you with a "sliding" landing through the grass. Your instructor will ask you to pick up your feet so that he may touch the ground before you.
